The Bombay Province comprises a little over 200 Jesuits working in various parts of western Maharashtra - Bombay city & Vasai, Palghar district, Nashik district, Dhule district, Nandurbar district and Raigad district. Of these about 170-odd Jesuits reside and work within province limits. 35 Jesuits are living elsewhere, either missioned to other places or in studies elsewhere.
About 20 Jesuits from the overall number are in formation, i.e. either pursuing ecclesiastical studies in Philosophy or Theology, or studying the humanities, or working towards a graduate or post graduate degree. Some are engaged in a year or two of work experience (regency), while some are in special studies abroad.
The Bombay province has an infirmary in which the old and ailing fathers of our province are taken care of by a dedicated and competent staff. About 8 to 10 Jesuits generally make up the numbers in the infirmary.
